Magazines Part ll

Image Based: 

Image based magazine covers are usually portraits of one person who usually is smiling, looking at the camera. These covers are typically used in celebrity magazines. Other magazines sometimes go for a different approach and show the character not looking at the camera, not smiling, not shot head on with the character.

Illustration Based:

Illustration based magazine covers are drawn illustrations for the cover. This type of magazine cover was the only type used up until 1930's. Most illustration based covers intend to convey something funny or out of the ordinary. Most magazine covers that use this type of cover are independently published magazines.

Type Based:

Typed based magazine covers are covers with just text on the front, this approach is usually to strike or shock the viewers. The way words are present in this type stand out and are powerful. This type is alike the illustration based type in that both are rarely used.

Concept Based:

Concept based magazine covers are covers usually to convey a message fast, and understandable to the viewers. Businesses usually use this type of magazine but besides that this cover type is rare.
