Aperture, Shutter Speed + ISO

Aperture is related to the the pupil of the human eye and how it dilates.
The smaller the Aperture makes your photos darker, increases depth of field, increases diffraction, decreases most lens aberrations, and increases the intensity of starbursts, the higher the Aperture does the opposite.
Aperture effects depth of field by increasing or decreasing it.
Shutter Speed

At the beginning while the sun was still up and the courtyard had reasonable good light:
a) I would use a semi quick shutter speed shooting a booth in the middle of the yard near the tree.
b) I would use a quick shutter speed shooting a food booth outside under one of the big red awnings.
c) I would use a quick shutter speed shooting the Stars performance inside the gym.
d) I would use a quick shutter speed shooting kids dancing in the center of the courtyard.
e) I would use a quick shutter speed shooting people streaming in from the front doors.
f) I would use a quick shutter speed shooting the basketball booth where students are shooting basketballs at a hoop.
Towards the end when there is no sun and has gotten dark enough that you can't see from one end of the courtyard to the other:
a.) I would use a high shutter speed shooting a booth in the middle of the yard near the Tree.
b.) I would use a slow shutter speed shooting a food booth outside under one of the big red awnings.
c.) I would use a high shutter speed shooting the Stars performance inside the gym.
d.) I would use a slow shutter speed shooting students dancing near the center of the courtyard.
e.) I would use a slow shutter speed shooting people streaming in from the front doors.
f.) I would use a slow shutter speed shooting the basketball booth where students are shooting basketballs at a hoop.
Shutter priority - set shutter settings
Manual - allows you to set the aperture and shutter speed.
ISO

The advantages of shooting at a higher ISO at a sporting event like a basketball or a night football game are it makes it easier to see the players clearly.
The author says that it is best to use a low ISO.
The author says to use a high ISO only when necessary.
